On Reentering American Culture

September 17, 2011 by Pranada Comtois Leave a Comment

Though a native American, I stopped following politics, economics, lifestyle, culture, sports, and entertainment as a teenager. Now in my 50s, I’m re-entering American culture. The experience is startling, exciting, bewildering, and sad.

I enter the discussion without the benefit–or ill-side effects–of staying abreast of the news for the past four decades. My perspective is curious, and inevitably, somewhat naive about the discussion that has occurred.

From this different outlook, I comment, question, and reflect on current, and not-so-current, but important, events.
