Has anyone told you that the spiritual path is not yoga, meditation, prayer, mind-control, church- or temple-going, or selfless acts? Though the spiritual journey includes these elements, the core practice of our path is to develop a clear sense of our spiritual self as lovers. Lovers of God, lovers of our fellow spiritual beings and all living entities.
Loving is an act. A choice. A demonstration of the heart’s intent by practical acts.
As lovers, life gives us the opportunity to reclaim and hone our spiritual gift by expressing our deep heart, soft and broad with unconditional love. Unconditional love is selfless. Selfless, not self-negating or self-deprecating.
Souls have unlimited capacity to unconditionally love all beings. This unlimited love is the energy of spirit. The Upanishads and Gita explain that the soul is more powerful and brighter than millions of suns. With a capacity like that can you imagine if we tapped into our core hearts and its most exalted expression?
